Work with Arno

There are different ways people work with me.
Some come because there is one particular decision they want to think through. We might meet once, or a handful of times.
Others want an ongoing relationship with someone who knows them and their business well enough to provide a genuinely independent perspective when they need it.

The work is often described as executive coaching or advisory.
I’m comfortable with either description, although neither quite explains what happens in practice. Mostly, we sit down and talk about what matters.

Executive Advisory

This tends to suit business owners, founders and senior executives who want an independent person alongside them when they are dealing with important decisions. The subject of our conversations can change considerably over time. One month we might spend most of our time talking about the direction of the business. The next conversation may turn out to be about a person, a partnership or a decision that has been avoided for too long.

That's the advantage of the relationship.
We don't have to make the question fit the process.

Executive Coaching

I also work with people who are stepping into greater leadership responsibility or finding that their role has changed around them.

Senior leadership can be an odd experience.
You're expected to provide clarity at precisely the moments when you may still be working things out yourself. Having somewhere private to do that thinking can make a considerable difference. Our conversations are grounded in what is actually happening in your working life. We deal with the decisions and relationships in front of you rather than an abstract idea of what leadership ought to look like.
